Waimea Falls

Waimea Falls. I didn't want to go because it cost $10 per person to do this easy little hike up to a rather unimpressive waterfall, but overall I'm glad I went. I got some nice flora, fauna and scenery shots, so it was worth it. And apparently I'm pretty darn good at taking bird portraits. Who woulda thunk. =P Anyhow, I'm pretty sure this wraps up the pics from our vacation. Hope everyone liked them. Now back to regular programming...

Beach Bums

I have just a couple more batches of photos from our Hawaii trip. This one is just some pics of us playing at the beach. None of them were taken by me, so thanks to my mother-in-law and my sister for taking them for us!

My Big Little Girl

Isn't it funny how time goes by so fast the older we get? Funny when it's not unfair, that is. ; ) Anyhow, my baby girl is officially one year old as of May 6. We just had her well baby check up last Friday, and she weighs 20lbs and is about 29 inches long. Right about 50th percentile for both height and weight. She took her first couple of steps on her big day, and in just the last week has started walking EVERYWHERE! Tristan, the little stinker, has discovered that she's very easily unbalanced and will strategically poke her to knock her over. He really does love her a lot, he is just your typical big brother and loves to pester her.

Here are some pictures from the day.

At dinner after a very busy day.
Feeding the turtles at the Sea Life Park. Sort of like a budget Sea World. Only not at a budget cost, just budget in the sense that there wasn't all that much to see. Their budget, not ours, I guess.
Miss Attitude birthday girl!

She knew EXACTLY what to do with her birthday cake!
So did Tristan. But he was nice and waited until Mommy gave him the go-ahead to 'help'.

More attitude, haha.

Gorgeous Hawaiian Skies...and Random Kid Photos

In Hawaii, they have a peculiar phenomenon known as 'vog'. Vog is volcanic fog. It looks remarkably like smog, and affects respiration in much the same way. How much of it Oahu gets apparently depends on which way the wind is blowing, since it's composed of fumes and such that emanate from the volcano on the Big Island. Overall, it's a big pain in the rear, but it does make for some PHENOMENAL sunsets. And of course I took photos of them. Plus a random cloud from the middle of the daytime that I thought looked pretty.

First though, here are a couple of my favorite 'artsy' photos of the kids and of Tom from the trip.

This one isn't artsy, it's just cute. The flower was tucked VERY loosely behind his ear, and I think he thought he could keep in place through the sheer force of his stare. I'm surprised he didn't give himself a headache doing this, haha.
And here are the sunset photos. =)

Hawaii - Macro Photos

Here's a few macro shots that don't really belong with any of my other sets of photos. Yes, there are still more pictures to come, mwahahaha.

I had fun taking these!.
