Two Are Harder Than One

Well, the title says it all. I was trying to get holiday pics of the kids today, and it seemed every time one kid would cooperate, the other one wouldn't. I never realized how hard it is to get a good picture of both kids together! Naiyah also fell over mid-session and bonked her head pretty good, which didn't help. In the end, I did get a couple of pretty good ones so it's all good.

Snow Day

First off, I know I have been horrible about blogging lately. Every time I think of something to share, life seems to interfere before I can come online and write about it. But never fear, I'll be writing more. If anyone even reads it anyways. :)

Today was fun. We got enough snow to last us for the entire year. And probably the next 10 years too. I actually got all domestic this morning and made blueberry pancakes, after which Tristan, Naiyah and I went outside and tromped around in the snow. When we came inside, there was surprisingly good lighting in our house for once, so I did a little mini photo shoot since the kids were SO cute! (The results of which are below.) Couldn't get any smiles from
Naiyah since she's teething, but that in itself made for some cute shots. We topped off the day by making chocolate chip cookies. (From a package - just how domestic do you think I am?!? Still yummy though!)

Now the REAL fun begins, we'll see how icy it gets tonight and what that means for my morning commute tomorrow. Yikes!

This is a pic of the bush outside our window.
We're dogsitting for my parents this weekend, this is Kirby.
Tristan giving Naiyah a kiss. He shucked his outdoor clothes too fast for a bundled pic, but she had to stay in them until I was done taking pics, mwahahaha!
Some pics of Naiyah.
This is what babies look like when they're happy but teething."I like my bink but I feel like a stuffed eskimo baby."
Tristan was practicing making faces of different emotions. This is happy......This is goofy......And this is 'sad'. Which I think is HILARIOUS!Overall we definitely had a good time today!Happy snow day!

Bronchiolitis

In case anyone was wondering why I seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth lately, we have been slammed at home with a barrage of colds, and I have been swamped at work coordinating our office move. So that leaves little to no time to upload photos, post little stories, and generally keep everyone updated. Also, as the little stories lately all seem to involve gross bodily functions I rather doubt anyone wants to read them. I don't particularly enjoy having to live them, that's for sure.

Anyhow, Tristan seems to finally be over his cold and getting better by the day (until the next one hits I'm sure), but Naiyah perked up for a day and then has been getting progressively worse since. I went ahead and took them both in to the doctor today to get things checked out since we're heading into a weekend and the doctor won't be easily available. Tristan got a clean bill of health. Naiyah on the other hand was diagnosed with bronchiolitis. My poor baby. What that means is that it's fairly difficult for her to breathe right now, and her blood oxygen level is lower than the doctor would like. She also has bulging eardrums which AREN'T infected yet but are still causing her pain. So, we have to troop back to the doctor tomorrow and hope she's better. They did try a asthma med to see if it would help today, but unfortunately it didn't even make a difference. That leaves us with an arsenal of a humidifier, Tylenol, Vick's Baby Rub, and sleeping sitting up for tonight. Wish us luck.
