A couple of weeks ago I made homemade chili for dinner one night. It was very tasty, and Tristan especially enjoyed it. The next night, me being the lazy person I am, I decided we'd get Micky D's for dinner as a treat. A treat for me and a treat for Tristan who LOVES french fries. So, as we're getting ready to leave daycare and go home, I asked him "Tristan, how about chicken nuggets and french fries for dinner tonight?"
"No, I want BEANS!"
Uhhh...oooookaaaay... I tried again. "Are you SURE you don't want FRENCH FRIES for dinner tonight? Mommy is going to have some!"
"No, I want BEANS!"
He was very definite that no, he did not want french fries, he wanted beans. Oh well, whatever. I shrugged it off and assumed he'd change his mind once he smelled them, because I was going to have Micky D's for dinner that night regardless, damn it! Anyhow, the whole trip through the drive-thru he continued to assert his desire to eat beans for dinner. Ok. No problem. We had leftovers from the night before, so beans were covered if he didn't change his mind. But I ordered chicken nuggets for him anyways just to be on the safe side. Once the magic scent of french fries was filling the car, I asked him yet again if he wanted french fries and chicken nuggets for dinner...
"No, I want BEANS!"
And that's what he had. We got home, I warmed up a good size bowl of chili, and he ate the entire thing. THEN he ate a couple of french fries and one chicken nugget.
What a weird kid. HOW is even possible for me to produce a kid that doesn't adore french fries? I am now doubtful that he is genetically related to me in anyway.
