Strawberry Picking

Last Saturday we went strawberry picking at a little organic farm about 30 minutes from where we live. Somewhat of an early Father's Day outing. We had so much fun! Tristan was a little grumpy when we got there, but once he saw all the plump red strawberries, he perked right up. He ended up filling his bucket almost a third of the way, which is pretty good when you consider he stopped to ask "is this one ok to pick?" for nearly EVERY berry! Silly boy.

We kept Naiyah corralled for most of the picking process, but she pretty much got to each a strawberry every time she complained. Haha. By the time we let her out, she'd eaten about eight or nine! Once we let her down, she took off running...and made it all of about two steps. The she realized there was FRUIT down there, all over! She plopped on her butt next to the biggest, juiciest bunch she could find. When we stopped handing her strawberries, she took matters into her own hands and started eating them 'wild'. SO funny!

I'm glad we went to an organic farm, I didn't have to worry at all about letting the kids eat them right off the plants. We came home with eight pounds of strawberries!! We've been eating them all weekend, and we still froze a good amount for future use. We're definitely going to head back next month when their raspberries come in season!

And now the photos! Because none of you honestly think I would let a stellar opportunity like this go to waste, right?!? Sorry they're not in any particular order, blogger is not the most photo-friendly site I've used and I'm out of energy to re-order them. If you have FB, there are more on there, and they are better organized. Plus they have funny captions, always a bonus!
